Introduction

Note: Time has passed. This is the original post. To discover how this project has unfolded, follow the chronology and read stories.

My name is Luke Wolcott, and I've set up this blog for my Human Kindness Experiment. Thank you for arriving here; I hope you find something interesting. My email address is terekitadha@hotmail.com, and I welcome any thoughts or questions.

The Human Kindness Experiment is a project I'll be undertaking while in India in the coming year. I leave on November 5th, and will spend 10 months giving it my energy and focus. Please read the "Summary" and "Frequently Asked Questions" for information on the project. If you feel like contributing, look at the "Contribution Form" (email me to request a file attachment).

Basically, the HKE is an exploration of compassion and kindness on a personal level. I'm hoping to act as an 'ambassador of good will' - transferring positive thoughts, intentions, and wishes from friends in the States to friends in India. In some ways it's an idealistic, naive, and quixotic adventure in making the world a better place. In other ways, it's a timely and essential call to spread positivity across the globe, in order to counter the terror the American government encourages and to combat the growing anti-American sentiment abroad.

After an overnight bus trip covering 1/2 of NZ's South Island, then 5 hours of waiting in Nelson rain Luke rang to see if we had remembered him ... not a cross word at missed messages, the rough road into a darkened isolated gorge nor the cold house waiting. Now that's human kindness!
It was a bit of a crazy time at Okainamu Organic Farm with the apple harvest starting and me preparing to leave. Not a problem for this guy who shared stories that remended me of the beauty I lived in, God's gifts to us and my laughter waiting to boil over inside.
Luke, I know you think you had it easy on the farm (well worked out on my part) but I hope taking care of the animals and daily chores helped ease you back into the western madness. You were so loving to Ollie cat, Jacqui, M1 & Beth, the Lads, the Moos, Charlie and his hens, so patient at teaching your successor & so organised. - but what else to expect from someone who mails himself his study notes!! Amazing -I know I learned from that.
I can hardly wait to hang out soon, sail well, make sure you have enough give when you reach high, Angela.
